Hostel Review: Drift BnB Colombo, Sri Lanka
The backpacking scene has not completely hit Sri Lanka. Dorms are around, but the reviews and locations are a tad shady. Good thing that the capital, Colombo, still had good backpacking options.
My flight to Colombo landed almost midnight so I pre-booked a private taxi to get to the hostel. However, the driver did not know where the hostel was so we had to call the hotel (using my new local sim) to ask for instructions.

A warning though, the dorm did not have an
elevator but it does have a lift for your heavy luggage.
No Humans! |
I stayed for a night in a 6-bed female dorm with an ensuite bathroom.
The beds are comfy and I had a restful sleep after a long
journey. The room was spacious too that you could each had enough space
to do your own packing. Lockers were spacious.
Each bed has its own night light and socket.
The bathroom has 3 toilets and 2 showers. But that bathroom is also
connected to another female dorm. So essentially, the bathroom is shared
by 2 female dorm rooms. Water pressure and hot water were both very
good.
The lobby was also
chic and a good place to just hang-out. ATMs and banks are also plenty
around the area.
Breakfast was quite plenty
but tastes so-so: 2 pcs of toast, 2 pcs of hotcake, omelette, fruits,
fresh juice and coffee. Good enough for its price.
The bed costs $23 (inclusive of tax) and the breakfast costs $4.
